1955 Custom Beetle Show Car For Sale

The custom VW scene has always had those builders that really go to the next level.
It seems that the human trait of aiming for perfection is something that is apparent
throughout the whole history of people restoring and customizing cars.

More often than not, these pinnacle cars fall from glory and end up being discovered
years later in a sad state of disrepair, Every once in a while though, an absolute time capsule
emerges from a garage somewhere and miraculously looks as amazing today as it did when built.
Such is the case with this show stopper...the legendary "Baad 55".

Built in the 1980's by Ted and Jason Stevens in BC Canada
this car was truly next level and proved that not every sweet Beetle was
built in California.  This one truly blew the California boys away and was featured
in all the magazines and collected awards wherever it was shown.

The level of detail of the build was insane...and even more insane, its condition today
decades later looks show-ready fresh as if it was just done yesterday.

You will really enjoy the detailed pics below...this car is spectacular.

Starting with a stock 55 Oval, the overall dimensions of the body were unchanged.
Louvered front hood, smoothed out trim and one piece door windows are the major mods
to the metal, but everything else was built to drop jaws of every person that saw it.

Incredible paint and bodywork and obviously an insane level of care to keep it this nice all these years.
The location of the car is on Vancouver Island roughly a half hour from Victoria.

The engine room looks like it should be in a jewelry store showcase

And the underside is more of the same.
Absolutely every square inch is "wow".

You can see from the yellowing on the exhaust...the engine has been started
but obviously this is not a car that has been driven at any length at all.
