1968 VW Beetle Convertible For Sale

This 1968 Beetle Convertible was purchased new in St Louis Missouri and
found its way to its current location in Colorado about 15 years ago.
It is a nice looking all stock example that needs just a little TLC.

Exterior wise the car looks quite nice.
The Yukon Yellow paintwork is clean and it is a happy little car.

Look at that face!

It is a nice example of what a stock 68 Convertible should look like.
Not lowered or hot rodded , just simple and sweet.

Chassis number

Recent battery

The floorpan under the battery was getting weak, so a replacement
battery section has been
riveted in place to keep things sound and solid.

Looks like a recent voltage regulator too

Carpet is in decent shape...seat belts are in place.

Window crank has worn through the panel just a bit.

Headliner material shows a little age but is holding up well.
Top operates smoothly.

Glove box is the original material and in nice shape

The drivers side seat upholstery and padding has worn through and the
edge on the passenger side shows some wear as well.
It is probably time for new seatcovers and padding if you want the car
to truly look its best.

Wheels have the original trim rings in place and the tires look good.

Haynes manual included

Carpet in the rear luggage area looks pretty good

Exterior wise the car is great...interior wise it shows its age a bit.
Fortunately with the replacement covers and pads readily available
and priced reasonably, you could re-do the whole interior to match the
glossy exterior for not much money at all.

The outside is awesome...what a cute car

Rear bumper has the stock guards in place

The stock 1600cc engine runs well

Im spying a sticker on the engine case that makes me think that perhaps
this was a genuine VW rebuild?
Not sure on that... but it looks pretty clean and all the bits are in
place.
Still running the vacuum advance distributor, looks like a recent Bosch
blue coil and a new carburetor.

Engine lid has the correct convertible rain tray in place.

Glass is all good.

A little wear to the carpet, but still quite presentable.

Odometer reads 40k miles...actual mileage is not documented.

Cool accessory wood shift knob.

Karmann body badge is in place.

The top looks to be in nice shape and it fits well.

Under the front hood is pretty basic...

Jack and tool roll are here

Original spare wheel

Underneath it looks pretty decent

Factory undercoating is still here

In this pic you can see where the replacement battery section was put
in place over the existing floor.
Just out of view to the left the floor pan has some rust and weakness.
It has been "repaired" for functionality with the new section, but it
should be done properly and sealed up nice
so it lasts for years to come.

In closing this is a nice little car.
I think with a little effort and a few bucks it could go from being
"nice" to "really nice" quite easy.
Finding a good stock 60's convertible these days is getting tougher and
tougher.
This one is ready for fun and is priced at a VERY reasonable level for
a timely sale.
