1970 Beetle Sedan For Sale

A very good solid honest mostly original California car since new.
No wrecks, no modifications, clean and well preserved unrestored Beetle.
Great driver as it is or a phenomenal base car for restoration...up to you.

The car has a good "old man" look to it.
Its not perfect but you can tell that there is nothing nasty hiding underneath it.
Very original and proper.

The car is owned by a very well known VW nut/collector in the So Cal area.
He aquired it from the 2nd owner, who had had it for just a short while.
It has been a California car since new and the history is known.

The paint has a slight patina to it, but obviously it still holds a shine.
It looks like it was resprayed once on the exterior only in the original "yukon yellow" color.

Nice straight rear end, excellent fit to the fenders and decklid, all proper and original.
Blue California plates, rear reflectors are still in place as are the often missing bumper guards.

The blue California plates.
Clean title, current registration.

Engine is really nice and clean!
This is apparantly the original numbers matching engine.
Has all the proper original parts such as the air cleaner and distributor and engine tins.

Underside of the engine lid is super clean, rain tray in place with the drain tubes.

here's a detail of the rear reflectors...these babies are almost always missing!

Side reflectors are a bit faded but are originals.

It has these round things at each corner with some sort of air filled squishy pad all the way around.
The owner told me there were called "tires"...funniest thing I ever heard.
Can you believe this guy?

Pop out rear quarter windows are a nice original accessory.

These door edge guards are a pretty slck original accessory as well.

Here's another neat original VW accessory...the edge guard for the gas filler.

Nice and straight down the sides

Original running boards are looking a bit aged...the rubber has shrunk up in the California sun.
Running boards are very inexpensive though...
It is nice to see originals on the car though.

There are a few small boo boo's on the car but no sign of any sort of major collision or repair.

Front bumper has the original guards as well.

Under the front hood is clean and proper.

Under the original trunk liner it is super clean and tidy.

Wiring is all original and clean.

Check out the original inspection mark from the factory...neat stuff.

Super straight and clean in the spare tire well.

Original jack is still in it's spot up front.

Remnants of the original paint code sticker...really nice and clean...keep in mind this is all original paint up under the hood.

And under the hood itself.

Not bad eh?

Lets look inside shall we?

Nice clean original dash, a couple of sun cracks at the top, but still very clean and presentable.

Front seats have been recently recovered. Padding on the drivers seat is a little flat from use.
Original 3 point seat belts are present and functional.

Original belts out back too...rear seat in nice shape.

Looks like the headliner was a little sun baked under the rear window so a new carpet kit was installed back here to cover the area.

Not bad for the original headliner dont you think?

Steering wheel has that "old man" style cover on it.
Horn ring and button are in nice shape.

Odometer looks to have recently turned over.

Basic radio (not stock)

Original glove box still in place.

Original door panels.
A little saggy in the pocket (arent we all?)

original carpets show their age. Rubber floor mats are in nice shape.

Original production date and serial number sticker in the door jam.

A little rust bubbling going on here in the lower door jam corner.
Looks to be mostly surface stuff, but if you dig into it there may be something further.

Cool original VW accessory sill trims and door edge trims.

Underneath the passenger side of the floorpan has been recently repaired and they did an awesome job of it.

Looks clean and dry in the heater channel areas and such.

Drivers side floorpan under the rear seat area I see a small area of rust, but very minimal and easily patched.
This and the one spot on the drivers door jam at the back corner are the only spots I noticed any real rust.
Super minimal by anyone's standards.

Solid in the fender wells, no rust at the bumper mounts (which is a fairly common spot.)

Here's a little scratch in the front bumper.

Window scraper rubber is worn.

In the end a very good solid honest car. No hidden suprises, what you see it what you get.
Some great originality features and a known history.
Its a good runner and driver just as it is, or use it as a phenomenal base car for a restoration.
And it's priced quite reasonably at...
