1960 VW Beetle Sedan For Sale
This sweet red 1960 Beetle comes to us from Southern California.
Its owners have put a lot of time, money and attention into the restoration of the car
and it is now a sparkly clean, very good running little car with an amazingly solid body and chassis.
Paint quality is nice...all the chrome is clean and bright, all the rubber seals and trim are excellent.
Excellent dash with no modifications.
Very clean
Car sits just as it should...no lowering or messing about, all stock.
Really clean and tidy in all respects.
The aluminum wheel trim rigns look great with the blackwall tires.
Black California plates on the car...it has always been in a nice dry climate and it shows.
Stock 40 horse engine with 6 volt electrics.
This is the "stale air" 40 horse, which is correct for 1960.
It has the rounded fan shroud like the earlier 36 horse engines, and no fresh air tubes from the shroud to the
heater boxes like on the later cars. It is great seeing this engine still in the car and the proper tins on it.
The rear apron is the correct "H" pattern one too.
Under the front hood is clean with a nice carpet kit to keep it that way.
The original jack and handle are here and the fuel tank is the proper early humped design.
Taillights are the right ones, VW used this design from 1956 to 1961 and then went bigger with a plastic lens in 62.
Carpet is well fit and the grey rubber mat looks like new.
I like the Roverside Volkswagen dealer frames and those black plates...a good honest old car.
Very clean!
Current registration and a clean title.
Fuel reserve lever is in place.
Front hood has the proper hood prop...later models got the spring loaded hinges.
Correct front apron.
Spare is clean and in good shape.
Seats and interior are all very clean and done in a simple black vinyl.
Check out that super solid floorpan under the battery...dreamy!
Transmission is the stock original "split case" unit.
No fuel gauge in this year...the dash is so clean and simple...just the speedometer and the radio and a couple of switches.
The simplicty of these cars is so wonderful...such a great change from modern cars of today.
You hop in here for a drive and it is totally back to the basics!
Nice and solid underneath!!
Window rubber is the smooth "no trim" variety and is in great shape.
Seats and interior look great.
Just basic black basketweave but very well fit.

Still the correct carburetor with manual choke.
In closing this is a nice clean and very solid car.
It is well done and shows well.
It is not 100% as it rolled off the showroom floor, only a few differences though and it would not take much
to edge it back into that if it was your dream. As it is right now though, it is a super clean and pretty car
that is ready to drive and enjoy just as it is. I love the way solid underside and all the stock stuff in place.
