1967 VW Westfalia SO42 Camper For Sale

The final year of German split screen production and the king of all campers, the Westfalia SO42.
This is a very clean and desirable bus with a nice quality restoration and a neat history.
Well appointed and trimmed out and ready for adventure or the shows.

Two tone Velvet Green and Pearl White look awesome.
The wood slat roof rack and pop top, camper side windows and safaris ...its got it all.

The fun story part of this one is that it has been a part of the Ewan McGregor collection for quite some time.
Ewan is a life long VW nut and petrol head and when he wanted a fun machine for camping and family adventures
the Westy was the ride of choice. This is the second split screen Westy that he has owned over the years
and has been a blast, but some new toys and limited space is putting it up on the market.

Anyway, back to the Bus!
It features the central pop top turret that allows for standing up inside the bus.
Screen windows allow for ventilation and can be zip closed for privacy.

The canvas is excellent and the unit opens and closes easily.

The body and paint is really nice all the way around with no notable damage
save for a few light stone chips and light scratches from use.
Always garaged and well kept and maintenance handled properly.

Safari front windows look fantastic and are perfect for camping and capturing that breeze.

Turn signal lenses and all body seals are in great shape/

Safaris close tightly and the wipers pivot down to be held by the "one eyed duck" blade holder.

Fluted glass Euro style headlight lenses and sealed beam headlights.

Excellent whitewall radial tires on painted 14" wheels with new hubcaps.

The underside of the camper is very clean and solid. All treated with a durable texture coat
and beneath that coat it all looks very pure and rust free.

It does appear that during the restoration there were some minor metal replacements such as
this outrigger behind the rear jack point. Its all solid and sound.

Underneath the engine is dry and reasonably clean.
Its a driver, not a show car, but it is nice to see that its not all greasy or leaky underneath.

Heater boxes are in place and hooked up.

A bit of road grime from adventure travel and local use.

Very clean and solid.

Front end too looks great and the splash pan is present under the pedals and controls.

Empi bumper steps

Reverse lights

Power outlet

Engine compartment is clean and complete and all rubber seals are
in place as well as the correct engine cooling tins.

Stock oil bath air cleaner and a recent 12 volt battery

Engine is an excellent running 1600cc single port.
A bit of dust in here, but a quick wipe will show the glossy paint in the engine room if you are the type to show your cars.

Really runs and drives great, brakes, steering, suspension and transmission are all wonderful.

D tag on the back bumper is another nice little accessory.

Body is very straight and smooth down the sides.

Its a beauty!

Love the wood slat roof rack...the classic Westfalia accessory.

Fog lights and black California plates.

Just lovely!

Harp mirror arms are another uncommon accessory that look great on the camper.

So sweet

The camper windows are very nicely restored.

Washer bottle with squishy "pup" top.

The radio in the camper is a very rare Blaupunkt Capri portable

This pulls out of the dash and can be used as a portable unit.

When out of the dash, the chrome Blaupunkt door fills the gap

And when installed it functions like a normal car radio.

Drink caddy basket is a nice add on.

Odometer reads just 832 miles.

Nice belts

And the man who has held the keys. I know Ewan will miss this one!

Just for fun he signed a travel map to go along with his baby!
Who will be the next owner of this camper and where will these wheels take them?
The joy of the camper is that no matter where you are...you are always home.
