1968 VW Double Door Panel For Sale

This VW panel van is a very special machine.
Not only is it an exceedingly uncommon "double door" version with sliding cargo doors
on both sides, it also has a great history behind it.

Currently located in France, it was restored about 10 years ago in Southern California
by the Kimball family, the promoters of the famed Bug In events.

The restoration was done to match the long lost Orange County International Raceway
support van that was always trackside at the Bug Ins as well as other events at the track.

The original Bus was provided to OCIR by Chick Iverson VW Porsche in nearby
Newport Beach California.

The hand painted logos were done in exacting detail by the legendary
Tim Leventry who is sadly no longer with us.

The Kimball family kept this Bus  until 2018 when it was sold to
a French collector that at the time was living in California.
He brought it back to France with him in 2019 and
has since put a lot of time and effort into improving the vehicle inside and out.

The paint and bodywork was done roughly 10 years ago and still shows
very well.  It is not without flaw, but it is definitely attractive and well done.

The double sliding side doors is a very uncommon option
especially for a US spec delivery van such as this.

The access to each side is really handy as well as fun for events and camping.

I can recall at some past VW Bus events that frisbee throwing contests
would happen with a short line-up of double door models.

The double door option seems more common in the split screen years,
but this being an early Bay window model, I really cant recall seeing more than just a few
in my many years of VW events.

Its a great looking Bus!

Since its purchase from the Kimball family in 2018,
significant work has been done underneath and mechanically.
