1964 VW Karmann Ghia Coupe For Sale
First of all...it's a VW...which is why you are here looking at it
right now.
It has Italian style from the masters at Ghia and a well built German
body from the craftsman
at Karmann.
Put em all together and what have you got?
This bright red 1964 model is located in Kansas.
It is a very complete and quite solid car that runs and drives well.
It has a bit of an older restoration...shows a little use here and there
but it is an overall good car that just needs a new owner that can take
it from here and make
it the best it can be.
Such a great design these cars have.
So sexy it seems odd to have the Volkswagen name plate on it.
The body on this one looks really good.
The car has all the right parts on it...a very complete car.
Dash is complete and the instruments all correct
The odometer reads 20,200 miles...probably has turned over once I would
think.
The engine looks totally stock and proper and it is said that it is a
good runner and driver.
Proper original air cleaner on the engine
Underside of the lid is a little grungy...but not too bad.
Still 6 volt electrics, all the original parts in place.
Spare tire well area is solid and seems quite straight.
New tire on the spare
Recent rubber all the way around. Missing one hubcap but it looks like
a new brake drum has been installed.
The hood rubber is poking up a bit at the back of the hood.
Paint still holds a nice shine
All the windows have the proper trim and glass is good.
Best in show must have been a really small show...but it looks like it
won the main prize
at A & Reds big event in 2007
Seats are the originals and have been recovered at least once...frames
look like original finish perhaps.
Door jam detail
Steering column paint is failing but the under dash looks really nice
and clean.
Nice original instruction decal on the glove box door.
Dash is really nice...and interesting to see the radio block off plate
in place.
Door panels look like the originals to me!
Bumper chrome is showing some issues and the one side overrider bar is
missing.
Nose looks quite nice
Sharp car really...I dont think it would take much to bring this one
back to glory.
Door pocket is pulling loose, but this could be taken care of pretty
easy I think.
Im impressed with the overall condition of the door panels...really
sharp for originals.
Headliner looks like it is in nice shape.
Rear seat is clean
Carpet kit is in need of a little re-tucking here and there perhaps
A good vacuum would help too
Underneath the car seems pretty good.
Untouched and unrestored but overall quite solid.
A couple small holes on the inner fender in the back on the drivers
side.
Not bad at all!
Nice!
Looks like a little filler up front and a couple scuffs and cracks.
Rocker panel detail...not perfect...but for a Kansas car...pretty sound!
Original floor pans in great shape
Defintely a few small paint flaws to sort out.
I think this is one of those cars that you could do a little careful
touch up
and blending and not have to do a full repaint.
Some fresh chrome on the bumpers would also make a major difference in
the look of the car.
Overall a good solid car that is quite stock and original and very
complete.
Quite a bit of originality to it as well which is great.
A perfect car to buy and play with as it is and fix it up a bit over
time.
With a few details attended to, it could really transform into a nice
little weekend show car!
