1960 VW Beetle For Sale

Hi!
I am a blue Beetle and I want you to take me home and have some fun with me.

I live in Rochester New York with a really nice man who has owned me for 27 years!
He has always taken good care of me and I know he has dreamed of restoring me to showroom shape
but he has more important things to spend his money on, family etc, and I never complain about that.

He has recently decided that it is time to get me in the hands of someone who will restore me or at least
keep me in good shape for many more years.

My original color was called Indigo Blue, you can see it on my insides and around the engine.
I was repainted once on the outside in a brighter shade of blue.
I run and drive well and my original engine runs like a sewing machine.

"Ahhhhh"

Very straight body and impressively solid for a car in this part of the country.

Nice signs of age and use...but not abuse

Headliner was redone in a pinpoint vinyl at some point

Holding together well.

Carpet and insulation in the luggage area is falling away and needs replacement

A little sun fade to the rear deck

Seats have been recovered at some point and are showing some age.
The interior panels are originals .

Carpet was replaced at some point but the rubber mats look original.

Original paint on the dash and interior.
Great period Motorola radio

Solid around the heater vents

Door handles have some minor aging but will probably polish up a bit

Some of the rubber seals have dried up

Really solid underneath

All original under here!

One patch spot under the battery, and that is it!

Seat belt mounting bolts

Very light grime under the engine.
It will drip a drop when you stop, but it is not a heavy leaker.

Recent shocks, front end shows years of old lubrication

Very solid in the fender wells and heater channels

Small paint scuff and tiny cracks at the leading edge of the hood.

Hood prop crack in the original hood.

Here it is front the outside.
Certainly repairable...and it is the original hood, so it should be fixed rather than replaced.

Original wiring cover is in place.
Original paint under the hood.

Original jack

Very straight and unaltered up front

Just a wee bit of surface rust...but dreamy when it comes to how straight it is.

Nice!

Original glove box in good shape

Wiring looks good...all still stock and 6 volt

Engine is super stock and original with the manual choke on the carb and everything/

Awesome!

Only thing under the hood that is not original equipment is the 009 distributor.

Solid in the door jams

Original German bumpers!

Correct original taillights

Small crack at the edge of the fender

A few chips and scratches here and there...it is an older respray for sure.

Some pitting to the chrome on the door handles

Original headlights with the VW logo glass

This is a very uncommon color and it would be absolutely fantastic restored back to this.
It was only offered for one year!!

The water blue and grey door panels are the correct originals for the Indigo paint color.
Very nice combination.

Looks like 105k original miles based on the odometer and the owner's story.

All stock and totally virgin...never modified or cut up.
This would be a dream car to restore back to original.

Here is a photo of a restored 1960 in Indigo Blue for comparison.

This is a wonderful car.
It is something that you can certainly drive and enjoy as it is, or it is a total dream basis for a restoration.
The rare one year only color makes it especially attractive to the restorer.

So...as you can see...I am still a very respectable old car. I am proud that I have lasted this long
and I am really excited to see what the next chapter in my life brings.
I would be thrilled beyond belief to look as nice as the picture of one of my brothers two pics up...
I was beautiful when I was new...please take me home and make me look like that again!
