1962 RHD 11 Window Hot Rod
UK supplied original right hand drive bus, full custom
Built by a well known hot rod builder David Harries, based in the UK for himself to go off on surfing trips in....
After finding the perfect bus, he set out making it his own with just a few basic requirements
1. It had to lay frame 2. It had to remain a usable camper and 3. It had to run a V8!!
With a full custom chassis put together to allow the bus to ride with the bumpers firmly placed on the ground, but still drive at this height.
It did also still have to be usable so there is full hydraulics suspension to lift the bus up to a more driver friendly height, but that's not the end of the suspension trickery!
It runs coil-overs all round which the hydraulics can be let down onto by activating the electronic lock out actuators,
all activated from the drivers seat. Once lifted up and locked out the bus drives static on the coil-overs.
There is then also air on the rear, to fine tune the driving height whilst on the coil-overs.
Yes it's static, runs hydros and runs air!!!

The in your face yellow and white bodywork is complimented with front and rear safaris and chromed pop outs on all side windows.
Looks like a toy!
On the inside take a peek in the leather trimmed bucket seats in the cab and rear seat that folds out into a bed.
Look up at the perfect wool cloth headliner.
Nice trim work
o motivate it along the road there is a mildly modified 3.5litre Rover V8 (Buick) Mid mounted under the table behind the cab seats.
Linked up to a 5 speed manual Gearbox and narrowed rear axle to drive the massive rubber.
Deep 15" Torque Thrust wheels wrapped in huge 265/60r15 BF Goodrich tyres in the rear and 155's up front.
Disc brakes on all 4 corners provide the stopping force.
Crazy...but cool!
