1955 VW Beetle For Sale

SOLD!!

This early Oval is as nice as they come!
Full body off restoration to exacting original standards.
NOS or original parts used throughout and done straight to the specs that it left the factory with.

This is a European delivery model with semaphore turn signals and the desirable "heart" taillights.
The color is "ultramaroon" which is the original color for this car.

Interior is done to original specs as well with the proper Euro cloth interior materials.

The car started out prior to the restoration as a very solid, rust free and accident free example that came
out of the West Coast of the US.
It was completely dissassembled and every nit and bolt was attended to.

Paint quality is superb and all the corners have been pleanly painted and attended to.

Dash is clean and un-cut.

Fenders are all original German sheet metal

Rear luggae tray was exceptional as well.

The extent of the restoration is impressive and the finish work in the areas you will never see, is just great.

No wrecks, no wrinkles

Excellent

All the suspension parts and detail bits were carefully cleaned and re-finished.

And the results of the restoration are quite evident.
This car is truly showroom condition inside and out!

Superb

Interior is beautiful!!

Correct in every way, the stitch patterns on the seats, the colors of the seat frames, the material used...it is all correct!

The engine compartment is no different and is detailed to a high extreme

Gorgeous car

All the trim, all the rubber...everywhere you look it is like brand new.

Even under the back seat it is a knock-out!

So nice!

Here are a couple more shots taken during the restoration.
The finishes on all the parts was done as-original...not high gloss, not "over-restored" like many I have seen.

The floorpans are superb

Correct split case transmission

Back to the shiny stuff.
The dash is excellent, the steering wheel is the correct "bat wing" wheel with a superb Wolfsburg crest horn push, as original.

Fit of the German square weave wool carpets is excellent, as is the installation of the headliner...very tight and tidy.

Original Euro spec kilometer speedo was completely restored and set back to zero at the time of the restoration.
Only 77 miles on the car since completion!

The engine block is not the original one that came with the car, but the restorer searched the whole US
for a block as close to the original numbers as possible. This engine block is only two production days away
from the original that was in it new!
The engine was fully rebuilt with all NOS German parts wherever possible and it truly runs like new.

Dash is excellent

Under the front hood the original style stapled trunk liner was made to fit.
A matching tool roll as well.

The engine is fitted with all the proper early bits including the round voltage regulator
on top of the big nut generator.
The short coil and the proper distributor and fuel pump are details many restorers miss.

Excellent!

Matching spare wheel and tire.

Seats are gorgeous.
Other details that jump out at me and satisfy my anal restorer side of me are the aluminum rings on the
carpet near the heater vents and seeing straight and smooth piping on the seats.
This car is done RIGHT!

So sweet

The single tip exhaust is proper...the third brake light/ fog light is the only accessory on the car.

So clean, everywhere you look!

The "heart taillights"

Canters of the caps are painted as they should be.

Wow!

Inside the fenderwells is superb

Wow!

This car is really quite impressive.
Its a great color that is quite uncommon, which makes it really stand out.
The car is done so "factory" it really shows well.
Not pimped up with roof racks and whitewalls...just done as it was when it rolled off the assembly line at Wolfsburg

These early Beetles are getting tough to find and the values are starting to rise up steeply in the collector scene.
The costs of a proper restoration are also on the steep climb, and I dont see how you could ever build another
one to this level for this price unless you did it all yourself and didnt count your time. This is easily a 50k resto
at any of the serious professional shops.
