1969 Meyers Tow'd Dune Buggy Time Capsule For Sale

The cars and creations of Bruce Meyers have become highly celebrated in recent years
and the values of the iconic original Meyers Manx dune buggies have risen sharply.
Collectors have been paying up big for true survivor originals and it seems that
the more period pure they are, the better.
This Meyers Tow'd is the most period pure example that I have ever seen...its a true time capsule.

This car is the off road version of the Tow'd and was originally built just for that purpose.
It has recently been discovered and revived and is now a full operational machine.

According to the BF Meyers tag, the body was produced in December of 1969.

The car was completed not long after that and was used very few times.
It went into storage in 1974 and remained there untouched until earlier this year.

These period photos show the car exactly as it was built back then...and it still remains just the same today.
The decals on the body are still present and it is in truly impressive all original condition.
Even the tires in these 1970's shots are the same ones on the car today!

Even a dash plaque from the last event it was entered!

The original gel coat was well protected from the elements and has polished up
to a very impressive level!

Its hard to believe its original finish...but it is!

The seats, roll bar, etc...everything is as it was first built.

The only thing added by the current owner is that incredible NOS original Tri-phase air cleaner
that is most definitely a period correct item.

The work done to bring this car back to glory was done by a true buggy nut
and knowledgeable collector of the Meyers cars.

The engine in the car is a strong running 1600cc dual port

Original decals are blowing my mind here!!

Absolute time capsule status here.
This thing just oozes 1970's cool.

Those original tires too...amazing!!

The car is located in Northern California but delivery to So Cal (or anywhere) can be arranged.

Extremely rare find in this condition...as-built in period and so well preserved.

The decals themselves are a trip through off road history.
Scat, Auto Haus, Small Cars in Ventura, M&H and Almico...even the 7up sticker tells a story.

Wiring has been recently gone through and all is fully functional.

Original original original!
The brakes by the way have been gone through for safety
with some new parts there.

That mild patina to everything just cements the time capsule status.
You cant fake this funk...this is the real deal.

Fun to see the steering support and dash panel exposed with the hood off.

In closing this is really a museum piece.
Perfect for the collector of Meyers cars, yet it does run and drive so you could have some fun with it.
Rolling on the original rubber and such I don't think its something Id want to really go out
and flog in the dirt for any extended period, and it would be a shame to mess it up.
You just don't find them this clean and this pure.
