The Anthacite grey paint color is an
original VW color and it looks oh so cool.
The lowered stance and classic big and little wheel and tire
combination is really stylish and fits the car well.

Things like the fluted European headlight lenses and all the other
little add ons add a lot of value to the car
as well as giving some added style.

The car is clean all the way around, even under the hood.
Overall it is all very stock and original in layout...its not been cut
up or modified.

The spare tire well looks straight and cleany painted.

Quite clean

I like the little touches such as the tire inflation sticker opposite
of the body tag...it shows that the builder spent a lot of time
attending to details and that normally ends up with a much better car
than something that someone just threw together quick.

Wiring looks very clean.
I love the bog spotlight and the truly wild turn signal lights.
The period Del-Swift fender mirrors are another great add on that you
dont see all over the place at the shows.

The narrowed front beam tucks the wheels in nicely and allows for wheel
clearance when turning.
The car is low, but still driveable.

Chrome looks nice and the 1962 mudflaps are another nice touch.

The ceramic coated exhaust looks great out back as well and the roof
rack up top...she's pretty sweet.

Now the paint on the old girl is showing a little age. There are
several spots like this where the paint is
cracking up a little. The only upside about this is that it gives the
car a little character, which is welcome in the scene these days.

If you are the type of guy that wants a "perfect" car, you would want
to repaint,
but if this one were mine I would totally leave it as it and just enjoy
it.
It gives it a little age and attitude. Maybe put some old travel
stickers in the window...play up the age as battle scars from years of
adventure.
In the end it's all about having fun with your car...and this is one
that I think would be a LOT of fun to cruise around.

The trim is bright and the window rubbers and seals are all good...body
is very straight and smooth by the way.

I love the old California yellow plates and the "Living High"
plate frame is pretty funny on a car so low.

The stock wheels with early style "big Logo" hubcaps and wheel trim
rings look great.

That big ol fog light is really fun.

The turn signal lights are so cool...I need to figure out where this
guy got these and use some on a build of my own
some day...I bet they are major conversation starters at the shows!

OK...lets look underneath and see what this car is really all about.
And what it is about is that it is really a solid old ride...look at
this chassis!

Looks very solid and sound and well coated with undercoat to keep it
that way.

Looks like nice new top quality KYB shocks underneath and the engine, a
recently rebuilt 40 horse,
is super clean and dry underneath.
Note to you cold weather guys...no heater on this one with that header
and J tubes.
Obviously this can be changed back, but for not it's cold tootsies on
those winter mornings!

Look at the reflections down the side here...
The owner states that it has never been in an accident and looking at
the panel fit in these photos I dont doubt him!

Clean title and current registration.

The car is a 62 model but it does have the taillights of a 61 and
earlier model...so it looks a tad bit older than it is.

The profile shot...

Headliner and interior are quite nice on the car and there are a bunch
of great accessories in here as well.

The Empi "Coach" steering wheel is a great add on and it pretty
valueable on it's own right.

Original owners and service manuals.

Seats in excellent shape.
Panels too and a great color combination with the grey exterior.

Check out the coco mats and the under dash parcel tray.
I also like the use of the grey rubber mats...very proper!

Oh yeah...the engine shot...gotta show you that. This 40 horse 1200cc
engine is an excellent
runner and features a 12 volt conversion with an alternator as well as
the mechanical advance 009 distributor.
I like seeing all the tins and seals in place back here as well as all
the hoses in place.
They run a lot better and longer when everything is fitted the way it
should be!

Check out this rare accessory day/night mirror!!

Another detail shot of that steering wheel.

Fantastic original Euro style multi band radio!
The flower vase is pretty nifty too!

Oh yeah...and the roof rack up top...she's an original German VW unit,
not one of those cheesy aftermarket units!

In closing this looks like a very fun and sweet little ride.
Its had a good life and a nice restoration and is a turn key runner and
driver.
It has it's paint flaws to deal with, but thats a pretty minimal issue
when the rest of the car is so nice.
Good car, great stance, nice accessories and priced at a reasonable
level...go for it!!
