Very rare "Ave T" VW powered Volksrod!

The custom VW scene has always been a varied one and with the boom of VW
based kit cars back in 70's there were all sorts of crazy contraptions built.
Some of those were of very questionable quality, but there are a couple really stellar cars that emerged
from the creative minds of the world and this one, the "Ave T" designed and built by the Averre Brothers
are a definite stand out.

The Ave T was released in the mid 1980's and was featured on the cover of Hot VWs Magazine in November of 1985.
A big leap above normal VW chassis based cars with a full steel tube frame
A arm tubular coil over front suspension with Type 3 VW spindles and disc brakes.

The body and nose are in fiberglass and the hood hand formed for each car.

King Bee headlights.

McLean chrome wire wheels

Beautiful upholstery

Cool audio set up

Vintage style instruments

1776cc engine was fully rebuilt with top quality parts inside and out.

So cool!

literature are included in the sale. Please not that this car is not actually the exact car that was on
the cover of the magazine, but built in period by the same hands.

Pedals

Front end is awesome!

Engine had less than 50 miles on it since the rebuild!

Cool taillights and a great personalized plate
Car is registered as a 1927 Ford Tract Roadster with a clean Arizona title.

Sounds awesome with this exhaust!

Trailer hitch if you wanted to pull a small teardrop trailer or something fun.

The transmission was built by Wright Gearbox and has a hydraulic clutch
thanks to its rear mounting and mid-engine layout.

Fuel tank up front

Rack and pinion steering

Very well built

Type 3 VW steering column with locking removable Grant steering wheel

The car has a total of about 3300 miles on it since completion
The odometer obviously does not reflect that.

Type 3 rear drums

A few small chips and age cracks but still shows amazingly well for being the original finish.

View of the engine is behind the seat.

So cool!

There were only 5 of these cars that were built for customers by the original designers
and this is one of them!

This is a very cool car and a great little bit of VW and Custom car history.
A blend of two worlds, the Hot Rod scene and the VW scene and well received at all events.
I can tell you one thing for certain...you will the the only one at every car show with a genuine Ave T!
