This final year Karmann Ghia Convertible comes to us from Massachusetts where it has
been in one owners hands since 1984. It has the rare "Auto Stick" transmission and has
undergone a full restoration and many rebuilds and services over the years.
It has 134,484 miles on the car since new (it had 119k miles when he bought it in 1984)
The current restoration is actually about 25 years old, even though you would never guess it by looking at the photos.
It has been garaged and extremely well kept over the years and still has a nice fresh appearance.
The most recent service was this past year with a replacement of the clutch.
In 2015 it had the steering box, brake calipers, and all new rubber brake lines.
It is an excellent runner and driver and is ready for a new home.
The owner was kind enough to provide us with an incredibly detailed photo array on this car and
I will let the images do the talking here. You will find that it is a very nice example inside and out and
even in the deepest corners.
What a beauty eh??
The owner did mention some paint bubbles on the cowl and front hood from a wet car cover
caused by a leak in the garage one winter...so the finish is not flawless on this car
but for being 25 years old it has held up remarkably well. I testament to the quality of the restoration.
The 3 speed Autostick trans is a great option that is becoming more and more desirable
as the years pass. For those that dont like dealing with the manual and a clutch, this is a perfect choice.
I love the wide wheels with fat trim rings...give the car a really sporty look!
January 74 production date.
Rear speakers tucked in tight to the center tunnel behind the front seats
Great color combination
The engine was rebuilt back in the late 80's and has less than 15k miles on it.
Very clean and well detailed. Runs excellent.
Beautiful car that is going to provide a lot of fun and a good investment for a new owner.
