1973 VW Bus For Sale
Here is a great Bus with a great story that is in truly impressive condition.
This beauty rolled off the assembly line in August of 1973 and was sold new in October of 73
in Prescott Arizona at Al Crawford VW to a secretary that worked for the VW dealership
by the name of Betty Sue. Betty Sue loved her VW and the Volkswagen brand and at one point when
a sales position opened up at the dealership she joined the sales force. She became their number one
salesperson for quite a while and was known to be very effective at selling VW Busses to the Moms of
Prescott for family haulers.
Betty Sue loved her Bus dearly and always kept it in top condition. For 46 years she was the careful
caretaker and after her passing in her 90's, her son who is a Pastor at a local church, sold it to the current
owner in October of 2019. It has never left Prescott Arizona, has always been garaged and pampered
and has just 61,500 original miles according to the seller and comes with a full history of service.
The condition is excellent inside and out and is a real testament to the care that Betty Sue gave her.
The seller has provided us with over 180 images of the vehicle showing many great details.
The pictures are great and so I dont wear my fingers to nubs, I wont comment under all of them
but I will chime in with any details that I see that are worth noting.
On March 9th 1989 the odometer was replaced with a used unit.
The original odometer stopped at 43,732 miles and the replacement unit had 52,789 miles on it.
So the discrepancy is roughly 9000 miles...hence the original mileage of 61,500.
This is all documented in the fat stack of service records. There is also a mileage log that Betty Sue
religiously kept up with every tank of fuel or service item.

From what I have been told, the beige was repainted once, just on the exterior, but the white and all interior

This is a wonderful find. It is not often you see a Bus of this era as clean and original as this one.
The details when you look deep are impressive. This has been extremely well taken care of
through its whole life and the condition of it today is a reflection of that care.
I simply love Betty Sue's Bus...and I am sure you will as well.
