1967 VW Beetle For Sale

When you have been collecting VWs for a while you realize that nobody
builds them like the factory built them.
An all original car is a joy to own and work on that is un-matched by
one restored, even one done by the pros!
I love a good custom car or a hot rod as much as the next guy, but
something with real history
and a level of preservation is what really gets me going...and this car
has that.

The current owner of this car is the 2nd owner since new. He bought it
in 1972 when it was just 5 years old.
He has always taken great care with the car and has pampered it
given it the proper service it deserved.
The car currently has 167,000 miles on it, and it still reatins most of
it's original paint, much of it;s original interior
and the engine still runs fantastic with no burning of oil or exepected
issues, and it has never been rebuilt !
Living proof that if a VW is properly cared for (I mean REALLY properly
cared for) it can last and last and last.
VW quality in the flesh here.

No modifications, all stock, all as it should be.
There has been a slight touch up to the front hood and one rear fender
has been repainted, but the rest is all original paint.
It shows some signs of time with a couple worn through spots from years
of waxing and polishing
and of course a fair few stone chips as you would expect with a car
that has been driven.

The owner has had a lot of fun, and a bit of heart ache with this car.
Its been a well loved member of the family since their union in
1972...some 38 years!
The heart ache being that the car was stolen...twice!
In 1984 it was stolen and quickly recovered near Malibu, and then again
in 1991 while parked at the owner's workplace.
It was recovered a second time and at that point it was taken out
of daily use and parked in the garage.
Fired off weekly and taken for short spins around the block only, it
has been driven very very little
over the past 19 years. The time has come to sell it and a good safe
home is seeked!

Beautiful little thing it is...in the original Lotus White color...who
wouldnt be attracted to the car?
This time around though, the exchange of hands will hopefully be more
cordial
and the new owner be someone who truly respects the car and the
originality and will continue with the care and feeding
at the same level of its current owner.

The thin whitewall tires, the pop out quarter windows, the stock
hubcaps and trim rings...a wonderful car.

Inside the headliner is in impressive original condition with only the
slightest of aging.

Original carpets on the kick panels and sides...new rugs on the floor.

All original paint inside...touch up paint vial in the glovebox.

Very clean

Sapphire radio is original.

Odometer reads 67,863 miles at the time of these photos and looking at
the car, it would be very easy to convince you
that that is the original mileage based solely on the condition of the
car....it is just that nice.
Actual mileage is in fact 167,863... but WOW it sure doesnt show it!

The seats have covers over the original upholstery, and they are in
nice condition.

Steering wheel and dash are gorgeous.

Aftermarket tachometer was installed long ago and helps monitor the
workings of the engine.

Under dash looks spotless

Pedals are clean.

Door panels are the originals and are in mighty fine condition for
their age!

Rear seat cover is excellent.

Headliner has minor age discoloration in spots, but for being the
original material in hot
Southern California...this is in phenomenal condition.

Rear vent trim looks great...rubber all has the correct aluminum
trimmings.

Another door panel shot.

Rarely seen original side view mirror.

Look how clean this car is around the hinges!

Hmmm...lets see with 167,000 miles and you figure each time you drive
you work through all 4 gears...
Whatever the number, this lever has been used a LOT...but look at the
cleanliness of the original finish on this...amazing.

Tire pressure tag in nice shape on the fuel tank

Body tag

Bumpers are original German units...not perfect, but the shine of the
chrome is impressive.

Visors.

Nice to see the original assist straps in place,

Pop out window latches are very clean.

Rear luggage area.

Running board trim has a few dings in it...but still very clean.

Great clean and straight nose.

Beautiful touches of time...but obviously well cared for time.

A few stone chips and minor paint flaws on the nose.

Never hit, all original paint in the trunk area.

Still the original trunk liner and wiring cover.

Jack still in the holder.

You can see the thin paint here on the hood edges.

A couple minor dings, but no accidents!

The passenger side rear fender was repainted after a very minor parking
lot bump
many many years ago.

Love the wheels and tires.
The tires have excellent tread but do have some minor sidewall cracks
from age.

Black Califoirnia plates, original German taillight lenses,
reverse lights are in place and in great condition.

A bit of a ding in the bumper blade.

The engine is the original numbers - matching unit and it runs superb.

Aluminum body coil is still in place!

The carburator was replaced at some point, and of course work was done
on the whole car over the years
to keep the maintenance level high and keep it running right.

Original engine!

Can you believe by the look of this engine that it has 167k miles on it
and has never been rebuilt???

The car is still stunning after all these years. the chassis is solid
and there is no rust underneath.
It has had a life that any car would dream of having...an owner that
truly cared for it above and beyond the
call of duty. If I were to die and come back as a car...I want to be in
this guys garage!
Wow...great find!
