1955 All Original VW Beetle For Sale

There is NOTHING quite like an all original, well preserved car.
The collector car world has been embracing this thought with force in
recent years
and the cars that are truly leading the market, are now the "survivor"
cars.
A car can be restored again and again...but they are only original once!
Finding a truly cherry, well preserved all original car is getting
extremely hard...which is why the values have been climbing.

This car is a truly fantastic find in many many ways.
Not only is its condition spectacular, the car itself is a rare
"early Oval" model that is also a doubly rare Belgian built model...not
off the line at Wolfsburg.

In 1954, Belgian importer D'leteren started building VW's in their own
factory.
The major components were shipped from Germany and the cars were
assembled
by Belgian workers and many of the smaller parts were sourced from
Belgian manufacturers.

This car came to the US in the 1980's and was a part of the legendary
Burton Burton collection for many years.
It is now in the hands of an Arizona collector that has kept up the
long running exemplary care.
He has had the car for over 20 years.

The car is all original inside and out...by all original I mean this is
all the original material and finish
that it left the factory with...not "restored" to original.

The tires have been changed on the car, however three of the original
tires have been retained
and go with the car to the new owner if desired.

The car is not without flaw of course...you need to expect at least
some wear and tear over 60+ years.
There are small spots such as this on the fender that only help
establish and prove the originality.

A very light ding in the fender here

I love the personalized plate!

What an amazing car.

The inside is excellent and again, all original.

Since these cars were assembled at the Belgium plant and many parts
were delivered
loose, it is interesting to note that the seats and interior panels
were all numbered
so that they could be kept together along the way.

Inspection tag still under the seat springs

That rubber stamp number on the panels and cushions just blows me away.

This is the sort of detail that gets lost forever when a car is
restored!

Modern battery , but everythiung else is a time warp and is
impressively clean.

Those numbers...wow.
I cant believe I am geeking out so much over this, but it is a detail I
have never seen before!

Floors are super solid

Carpet is even in really nice shape.

95155 kilometers... roughly 59k miles since new.

Note that the original rubber mats have a metal ring over the
stays...replacements are just rubber.

Being an "early Oval" it has the ribbed doors and the "bat wing"
steering wheel.

Nice original horn push

Original keys

Everything works as well...lights, etc...it is a very good runner.

Visor

Mirror

Original headliner.
There is some discoloration above the doors on both sides. but the rest
is stellar.

Dome light works

Wow!

So clean

Note the scuff guard on the carpet...another detail that is commonly
missed in the restoration.

Super clean

A scant bit of wear through on the paint on the reserve lever.

Heater vent detail

Door jams are super clean

Wolfsburg crest

Backside of the dash...spotless

The European authorities at one point decided that semaphores were not
safe and outlawed them.
The required that all cars have flashing turn indicators.
These were installed when still in Belgium...here is the flasher relay

Very clean and all untouched under the hood.

Euro headlights of course

Original hood

Incredibly straight hood...these so foten get a "kink" along the
drivers side

Impressive

I love the radio block off "seal"!

Look at how clean the hood latch is...wow!

A little paint wear and a slight ding along the edge of the front
apron, but still extremely solid and untouched.
Chassis is very solid and rust free on this car as well.

Look at that pan! Dreamy!

I love the "heart" taillights and the added reflector.

Engine room is very clean and again . all stock and untouched.

Original numbers matching engine..all the right bits in place,
Round regulator, strap top air cleaner...etc.

You can just make out the Belgian glass marking in this image...items
such as glass were sourced locally
to keep costs low and help eliminate breakage.

Birth certificates from VW, copies of the magazine article as well as
other paperwork is included.

Nice

These semaphore replacements are amazing!!!

I love seeing details like this...the VW logo in the taillight housings.
Often when a car has been repainted...this detail is buried under
layers of paint.

Here is a small flaw on the edge of the passenger side front fender.

Original windshield glass...with the stamp to prove it.

Original Dutch plates

What a spectacular car this is!

An all original car like this just leaves your breathless...the look,
the feel, the touch and the smell>
It is intoxicating to say the least.
This is a car to grab and hold and carefully tend to . It is a special
car indeed.
