1974 VW Camper Bus For Sale
Now for something completely different!
This crazy cool 1974 VW Bus is located in Virginia in the hands of a prolific collector
or movie cars and crazy machines.
It was used in the 1996 Film Sunchaser with Woody Harrelson and Anne Bancroft.
A short synopsis of the film is that Harrelson is a doctor that is kidnapped by
a sick Native American thug who is on a quest to heal himself in sacred waters.
The push and pull of the heart and faith against the science of medicine and the rich modern doctor
ends up healing both main characters in ways neither could even imagine.
In the film the doctor hitches a ride with a wild hair hippie, and this is his ride.

The interior of the camper now is much cleaner and very fun
Nice bid sleeping platform in the back and lost of assorted memorabilia
Converted theatre seats mounted behind the driver.
Engine wise it is a bone stock 1700cc with dual carbs.
Runs and drives and is, as you would expect...as much of a snail as it appears when it comes to performance.
"The Snail"...that would be my nickname for it if it were mine.
At first glance it appears that this is actually a Jurgens Auto-Villa, a very rare conversion out of South Africa
But in fact it is an American built creation that certainly captures the same spirit.
What I have not figured out is if this was a period build, or if it was just done for the film,
but no matter what the story, it is a very interesting beast with a colorful and fun back story.
Super odd, super cool, and a lot of possibilities for this one.
The movie history is certainly a good conversation story for the campground.
Drive it as is and preserve the movie history, or restore it and outfit it into your dream camper.
