1970 VW "Wunderbug" Convertible For Sale

This Kansas based 1970 Beetle Convertible has a great history.
It was bought new by a 51 year old woman that loved and kept the car
for another 51 years when she passed at 102 years old!
Now being sold by the family to hopefully another loving home.

The car was her baby and the condition of it today is testament to that.
Single owner, always garaged, etc.

The rare "Wunderbug" 37 Ford inspired hood was a unique and fun period addition
to the car. These high quality hood, grille and side panels were made in Indiana
and could be installed in an afternoon giving the car a very neat character change.

The rest of the car remains very stock with the exception of the chrome Empi "Sprint Star" wheels
that have been with the car all along.

90,692 miles on the odometer which are thought to be original to the car.

Front trunk looks clean and simple

The original front hood was retained during the conversion if someone wanted to
put it back to the factory form.

The underside of the engine is a bit grungy but not horrible

Floor pans look very solid

Support rails as well

Stock 1500 cc engine still runs great.

A few cobwebs from storage.
The car did sit for a while as its original owner aged out, but
the car was kept in great storage and the current holder of the keys says it runs and drives well.

The car has been repainted at some point as evident by a little overspray visible in the engine compartment.

Looks like a new muffler was installed recently.

Period accessory wood dash panels

Leather steering wheel cover and coco mats.

Hurst trigger shifter with wood ball knob.
Loaded with 70's cool accessories!

Seats look decent as do the door panels and carpet.

The chrome Empi wheels all have their center caps and are wrapped with radial tires.

Love these wheels!
If anyone out there has any for sale I would love a set for my Manx buggy.

Door handle scratch guards are a dealer accessory

Original rear bumper still has the guards with rubber trim
and the correct 1970 rear reflectors

Another dealer installed trim around the gas door.

Stock suspension height and original drum brakes.
This is a very stock and proper car overall with the only obvious changes being
the wheels and hood treatment

Grille and Wunderbug emblem look to be in amazing condition.

Top fits and functions well

Still has the correct original rear window trim in place.

In closing this is a really fun an unique car that has had a great life with a long term
owner that held it dearly. Now its time to see it off to a new home...is that home yours??
